Tape Measurement

Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 23, 2026

This policy describes the data practices of the Tape Measurement iOS app and its supporting Firebase and Google Mobile Ads services.

Measurement content

Measurements, saved snapshots, floor plans, room scans and 3D scan archives are stored locally on your device by the app. Firebase and Google Mobile Ads do not receive those files. They leave your device only when you choose an export or share action, or when iOS itself performs device backup according to your Apple settings.

Firebase Analytics

The app uses Firebase Analytics to understand important product usage such as app opens, screen views, measurement-tool starts, completed measurement flows, paywall views, subscription-flow events and ad lifecycle events. Google may process app/device information, app-instance identifiers, product interaction data and coarse geographic information derived from network information for analytics. We do not intentionally send measurement values, photos, scan files, names, email addresses or other user-entered content as Analytics event parameters.

Firebase Crashlytics

Crashlytics is used to diagnose crashes and selected non-fatal technical failures. Diagnostic reports can include crash stack traces, app version, device/OS information, technical identifiers and diagnostic context needed to investigate reliability. The app does not intentionally attach measurement content to Crashlytics reports.

Firebase Remote Config

Remote Config downloads non-personal configuration values such as feature flags, legal links, review-prompt timing, the active ad format, ad-unit identifiers and interstitial frequency. It is not used to store your measurements.

Purchases

Subscriptions are purchased through Apple's App Store using StoreKit. Apple processes payment information. The app receives subscription and product status needed to unlock Measure Pro. Measure Pro subscribers do not receive ads.

Advertising and consent

The app uses Google Mobile Ads for interstitial and rewarded ads. Interstitial ads may appear for non-subscribers only after a configured number of completed measurements and at a natural break after leaving the measurement screen. Rewarded ads are optional and may be offered in exchange for one use of a locked premium tool. Google and its advertising partners may process device, app, approximate location, consent and ad-interaction information to request, deliver, measure and prevent fraud involving ads.

The app uses Google's User Messaging Platform to request consent where required and provides an Ad Privacy Choices control in Settings when Google indicates that privacy options must be available. This build does not request Apple's App Tracking Transparency permission and does not use the advertising identifier for cross-app tracking; where personalized advertising consent or authorization is unavailable, eligible requests may receive limited or contextual ads.

Retention and controls

Local measurement files remain on the device until you delete them or remove the app, subject to iOS backup behavior. Firebase and Google service retention is governed by the configured service settings and applicable Google policies. You can remove locally saved work from the corresponding in-app libraries and can revisit required ad privacy choices from Settings.

Children

The app is a general-purpose measurement utility and is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

If these practices materially change, this page will be updated before or alongside the relevant app release or server-side feature activation.
